7. Neurological Symptoms
This is one of the most serious warning signs — and it’s specifically linked to recent recalls. In March 2026, the FDA warned that certain lots of Quest Cat Food contained extremely low levels of thiamine (Vitamin B1), which can cause neurological damage.
Watch for: disorientation, head tilting, unsteady walking, seizures, or sudden blindness. Thiamine deficiency can cause permanent damage if not treated early. This is a veterinary emergency.
