10. Changes in Litter Box Behavior

A cat with food poisoning often shows sudden changes in litter box habits. This includes urinating outside the box, straining to defecate, going more or less frequently than usual, or crying while using the box.

These changes often happen BEFORE other visible symptoms and are one of the earliest ways cats communicate that something is wrong internally.
