5. Fever
A cat’s normal body temperature is between 100.5°F and 102.5°F. Anything above 103°F indicates a fever, often in response to bacterial infection.
Fever in cats is hard to spot without a thermometer, but signs include warm ears, a warm nose, shivering, or hiding more than usual. If you suspect fever alongside other symptoms on this list, call your vet.
