3. Greenies Dental Treats — Choking Risk
Although Greenies reformulated their product in 2006, veterinary forums and ASPCA reports still occasionally flag dental treats as a choking risk for cats — particularly older cats with dental issues who may try to swallow pieces whole.
The key rule: always supervise your cat with any chewable treat, and choose the correct size for your cat’s weight. Treats that are too large or too hard can cause dental fractures or obstruction.
